The Retreat Shelter
Add to wish list

Product Code: SH100711

From £3,290 ex. VAT

This attractive and practical corner playground shelter creates a flexible and adaptable outdoor learning and play space.

Available in three sizes this shelter provides a school with a versatile and open space that can be used as a location for outdoor lessons and/or role play as well as a super spot for playing and catching up with friends at break times

A large entrance under a raised apex with a small octagonal window creates a very spacious feel with plenty of headroom for adults and lots of space to minimise congestion and provide ease of access for all agilities.

At the rear of the shelter there is a solid wall with three non-opening glazed windows. The windows are set at differing heights providing protection, look out points and decorative interest.

The sides have low panel walls that provide some protection against the elements while still ensuring that the shelter is a lovely open space where children will get plenty of fresh air.

The seating can be provided as an optional extra in all sizes of this shelter but would incur extra cost.

Seating in the smallest size of this retreat shelter would accommodate an average of 11 children with the others providing seating for an average of 13 and 16 children.

    Walls
    Shelters
    • We ensure that all of the external walls of our shelters are built to with stand all weather conditions.
    • The framework is built using a good quality, 38mm x 50mm profile redwood timber planed and sanded with swept edges.
    • The framework is fixed together using zinc yellow screws.
    • 12mm Redwood cladding is fitted to the outside of the framework, this is glued as well as pinned with 38mm galvanised pins.
    • The wall is finished inside and out with preservative to suit.
    • If the top edge is exposed a pressure treated edge trim is fitted.
    Windows
    Non opening glazed
    • The windows are built as separate units; once they have been sanded and treated they are glazed with 2mm polycarbonate sheet.  They are then fitted and sealed using clear silicon into the wall.
    • The polycarbonate used is completely clear and will not fade or become brittle with time; it is 200 times the strength of glass making it virtually shatter proof.
