This great playground play structure is sure to keep the children happy and active for many play times.  The play structure is raised up 2ft and can be accessed via a staircase, a ramp or a climbing wall with knotted rope: as the platform is set low, the climbing wall is very safe but gives the children a good opportunity to use their upper body muscles.  Once on the platform there is a playhouse in the left hand corner, this has a door with a cross shape look out window and three rectangular windows, this allows good visibility inside.  The roof is finished off using felt shingles.  Internally the playhouse is lined with plywood, it has two shelves and cushion flooring.  In right hand corner a castle playframe is sited: this has two access points, a central portcullis style window, nine unglazed castle style windows and a flag pole fitted, again good visibility is given due to the open doorways and lots of windows.  The playhouse and castle are linked along the back by a castellated wall.  To the front is a central closed in tunnel, with castle slit windows on both sides, this is accessed via a staircase at each end, if you go underneath the tunnel you access the climbing wall.  The platform and staircase is fully protected by balustrade rails, the decking is painted with anti slip paint and a telescope and a periscope fitted.

Specification

All staircases are built at an angle of 45 degrees with no more than 180mm between treads, they are built using tanolised timber with grooved decking used for the treads. All staircases above 300mm have balustrade rails on the side.

The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with 2 base coats of waterproof membrane and then a top layer of felt shingles giving the apperance of tiles. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board; there is also a ridge board fitted along the top ridge, these boards can be either straight or shaped.

This level of build is a popular option as it gives the additional benefits of a damp proof membrane in the walls and a smooth surface on the inside that is suitable for decoration. Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm redwood timber with rounded edges. On the outside of this we fit, using galvanised pins, 6mm wbp external plywood followed by a damp poof membrane and then good quality redwood shiplap, this makes the side panels. These panels are then sanded and treated on the outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site, a clear silicon seal is applied to all the corners.

Your playhouse comes with a solid floor all ready to be laid onto a sub base, this can be shingle stones/concrete/paving slabs/tarmac/decking. The floor is constructed using 25mm x 50mmm tanolised bearers supporting an 18mm wbp external grade plywood floor: this is treated on the upper side with sadolin classic timber protection.  Sandwiched between the bearers and plywood is a damp proof membrane that then wraps around the edge and sits under the playhouse side.  The membrane is there to stop moisture coming up from the ground.

A soft floor is fitted to the ground floor of the playhouse once finished - this floor can be removed easily for cleaning.
