Large Shelter with Seating
Completed for: £4,434 (exc. VAT)
Project code: PC090779
An undercover area, this playground shelter gives the children protection from the harmful rays of the sun, somewhere that they can sit and have a chat to their friends and also somewhere to go to keep dry when we have the odd drizzle of rain! The back and right hand side are solid, whilst the front and left hand side walls are built to half way, this gives good visibility inside as well and allowing lots of natural light to go in. It has two doorways, 3 large long rectangular glazed windows and a fitted bench along the back wall. A telescope and periscope are fiited onto the front panel and a small picnic bench supplied.
An ideal place for the parents to wait when collecting their children.

Specification
The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with a base layer of waterproof membrane and then a top layer of 38kg mineral felt, using stainless steel staples. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board.
The playframe sides are built to last; This type of construction is used for open buildings that are not weatherproof. Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm timber with rounded edges. To this we fix using galvanised brads, good quality redwood shiplap timber, this makes the side panels. These panels are then sanded and treated both inside and outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site.
Decking can be laid at ground level either as a floor for a play-frame, a sub base for a playhouse or to give an additional play area. The decking boards are good quality grooved redwood boards that are pressure treated. The deck boards are screwed to pressure treated 50mm x 100mm timber bearers which in turn sit on bricks placed at ground level. A weed prevention membrane is fitted below the decking to ensure that there is no plant growth up through the boards. If it is being used as a sub-base or play area a skirt is fitted to match to deck.
Decking can be painted with a non slip rubberised paint, please ask for details.
